When I bought this house, I failed to notice the only light switch in my bedroom was on the complete opposite wall from the entry door to the room. Hence, going into my room after dark with no light left on (meaning also electricity wasted, potential for hazards) meant potentially toe stubbage at the least, falling flat on my face or the reverse side at the worst. Answer? Add a LED motion sensor light bulb to the lamp placed nearest my door into my bedroom. LET THERE BE LIGHT! And now, there is! Beautiful light, at that! The order of 2 bulbs from Amazon.com at $16.99 for 2 high quality 50w bulbs is a very good deal. No, it is a STEAL! Have you priced just plain ole light bulbs these days? They stay on approx. 40 - 60 secs after activation but the downside to my choice of use is they do detect movement within 19 - 26 feet & as such, they can offer a bright distraction when sleeping so after my needs are met. Resolution? I simply turn off the lamp and turn on a light I can use farther in the room once I’ve reached my destination. The catch, as this is still new to me, has been remembering to turn that lamp on when leaving the room for the day & no plans to return until after dark & OFF after my needs have been met. Of course, there are many much better uses for these terrific lights, mainly outdoor or on the porch or patio for me but the answer to the room is currently semi-resolved. Now to activate a timer to turn that lamp off and on. Next step for me.
